The Third China International Conference on Digital City & China International Expo on Digital City Construction Technology and Equipment, which was organized by the Ministry of Construction P.R. China and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, co-organized by International Society for Digital Earth, National Remote Sensing Center of China, China Electronic Commerce Association, etc. was held in Shenzhen from September 21 to 23, 2007.

 

Research agencies in digital city construction field and well-known enterprises of related equipment manufacturing were invited to attend the Expo, exhibiting their latest technologies and applications of digital city construction. More than 1000 scientists, researchers, experts and engineers from universities, research institutes, consultant firms, industries and other institutions participated in the conference.

 

Prof. Lu Yongxiang the President of ISDE, addressed on the opening ceremony of the conference entitled "Digital Earth and Digital City". Prof. Guo Huadong the Secretary General of ISDE, gave a presentation named "Scientific Platform on Digital Earth and Digital City" at the conference.

The conference provided a platform for summarizing and communicating the latest development trend, successful cases and key technologies of digital city construction both at home and abroad; discussing the industrial mode of digital city, development way for common supporting technology of digital city; sharing experiences of IT application in urban planning and management, urban intelligent traffic development, digital community construction, and informatization of constructionenterprises.
