Special Issue on “Analytical Geospatial Digital Earth”
Guest Editors: Bert Veenendaal, Songnian Li, Suzana Dragicevic and Maria Antonia Brovelli

Aim
This special issue of the International Journal of Digital Earth (IJDE) is devoted to the theme of webbased GIS, mapping services and spatial analytics supporting digital earth technologies and applications. Digital Earth is a virtual representation of the planet, encompassing all its systems and forms, including human societies, manifested as a multi‐dimensional, multi‐scale, multi‐temporal, and multi‐layer information facility. The Digital Earth vision encompasses the vast array of technologies, information frameworks, organizational standards, along with applications across a spectrum of disciplines, and many educational and grassroots operational needs.

The IJDE is the official Journal of the International Society for Digital Earth and is published by Taylor& Francis of the UK. It is the first professional and international peer‐reviewed journal in the digital earth research field around the world. The SCI 2010 impact factor for this journal is now at 1.453.

Papers for this special issue on Analytical Geospatial Digital Earth must present original, state‐of -the- art research that contributes to the development of the digital earth technologies and applications.

This is an open call for papers. However, selected quality papers from recent workshops of ISPRS WG
IV/5 will be invited for submission.
