ISDE9 theme: “Towards a One-World Visionfor the Blue Planet”

We are pleased to invite you to the International Symposium on Digital Earth, to be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in Octoberof 2015.

Canada is in the forefront of research and development in the fields of geomatics, geospatial research, and environmental monitoring. Nova Scotia has a large cluster of agencies and institutions related to geomatics,digital technologies, and the environment, with regional and specialist agencies of many government departments, and world-class research at local universities and colleges. Our conference will include themes from the entire spectrum of the Digital Earth vision, but will highlight ocean and atmospheric sciences.

Halifax is a delightful and historic tourist destination, with fine accommodations, dining, and entertainment. Venues in downtown Halifax offer live music to suit every taste on any given night. World-class scenery and UNESCO heritage sites are within easy reach along the South Shore and in the Annapolis Valley. October in Nova Scotia promises sunny days and delightful Fall foliage.

The Halifax International Airport provides direct flights to 42 cities in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Frequent flights to NewYork, Chicago, Montreal, Toronto, and Europe provide easy connections to cities throughout the world.

The conference venue will be the Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre, in downtown Halifax. This 3-floor world-class facility offers comprehensive services and excellent catering in acentral location close to restaurants, pubs, and shopping. The heart of Halifax has more than 3500 hotel rooms, with many conveniently connected to our meeting venue by an enclosed pedway system.
