About ISDE

Digital Earth is a global initiative to construct a comprehensive virtual representation of the planet. It is a collaborative effort between Earth sciences, space sciences and information sciences to monitor and forecast natural and human phenomena. The International Society for Digital Earth is a non-political, non-governmental and not-for-profit international organization, principally for promoting academic exchange, science and technology innovation, education, and international collaboration towards Digital Earth.

The 12th International Symposium on Digital Earth

The 12th International Symposium on Digital Earth will be held in Salzburg Austria in July 2021.

This Symposium is organized by the International Society for Digital Earth and hosted by the Department of Geoinformatics-Z_GIS at the University of Salzburg. ISDE12 aims to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by harnessing the world's data and information resources to digitally represent our planet, and to monitor, measure and forecast natural and human activities on Earth.

"Digital Earth Vision Towards 2030" Workshop

The Workshop on "Digital Earth Vision Towards 2030" was postponed until July 2020.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the workshop on "Digital Earth Vision towords 2030" organized by ISDE was postponed until July 2020. The workshop will be held as a web-conference. More details will be updated.

"Manual of Digital Earth" has been published by ISDE and Springer

On November 18^th 2019, the first scientific book of Digital Earth, namely “Manual of Digital Earth” was formally published by the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) and Springer

The 28th International Conference on GeoInformatics

The 28th International Conference on GeoInformatics (CPGIS Annual Conference) has been postponed to June 26-28 , 2021.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 28th International Conference on GeoInformatics (CPGIS Annual Conference) has been postponed to June 26-28, 2021 at the Jiangxi Normal University, Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, China.

The 8th Digital Earth Summit

The 8th Digital Earth Summit has been postponed until October 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic,the 8th Digital Earth Summit 2020 was postponed until October 2020. The Summit will be held as a web-conference. More details will be updated.
