Taylor & Francis Delegation visits CEODE

 
On the occasion of T&F journals publisher (Asia Pacific) Rachael Sangster and managing editor Christina Low visit Beijing, they visited the Center for Earth Observation and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences on April 1st, 2009, and had a very pleasant meeting with Prof. Guo Huadong, Editor-in-Chief of the IJDE, and other staff of the IJDE editorial office.
 
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Guo Huadong welcomed T&F colleagues' visit and briefly introduced the publication progress of IJDE. Then Prof. Wang Changlin, the assistant editor gave a report on the publication of IJDE with submission statistic results based on the work done by IJDE Editorial Office.
 
Following that, Rachael Sangster gave a report of publishing situation on the basis of circulation and citation analysis of IJDE from the publisher's view. She applauded the achievement that IJDE had made, mainly on that all issues of the Volume 1 of IJDE has been smoothly published in 2008, the paper submitted to IJDE could be efficiently dealt with for production, and IJDE has been successfully arranging a supplementary issue of IJDE in collaboration with EGU-ESSI ( the Earth and Space Science Informatics division of the European Geoscience Union ). Due to these encouraging progresses, T&F applied to ISI for the inclusion of IJDE as a Science citation journal in January 2009.  She appreciated the influence of the journal has been made in terms of the increasing of IJDE subscribers and download rates of papers. Generally speaking, 2008 was a very pleasing year for IJDE although there is a long way to go to be a SCI journal.
 
IJDE Editorial Office would like to continue the good cooperation with T&F to promote the publication of the journal to be a real academic, popular and international journal, dedicated to the digital earth.
 

The International Journal of Digital Earth was inaugurated in March last year, and is an official Journal of the International Society for Digital Earth.
