ITC Rector visited the RADI

On 13th March, Prof. Tom Veldkamp, the Rector of the Faulty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), the University of Twente, paid a visit to the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI), accompanied with Paul Schoonachers, an ITC senior project officer.

They took great interests of the presentations of Digital Earth Science Platform and the satellite ground control system. They also visited international organizations hosted by the RADI: the International Centre on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage under the Auspices of UNESCO, the secretariat of the International Society for Digital Earth and the editorial office of the International Journal of Digital Earth, the International Programme Office for Integrated Research on Disaster Risk.

Prof. WANG Changlin, Director of the International Academic Division, warmly welcomed them and gave an introduction to RADI’s status, operations of national scientific and technological infrastructures, progresses in scientific research, and international cooperation work. Both sides thought it was significant issue to discover possibilities to enhance working as partners in terms of co-operated research and education.

The Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente provides international postgraduate education, research and project services in the field of geo-information science and earth observation using remote sensing and GIS.
