Prof Guoqing Li

Dr. Guoqing Li is a professor of the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI) at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He got his PhD from CAS at 2004 and then he had got his experience in European Space Agency and Purdue University as visiting professor. His favorite research areas related to high performance remote sensing image processing technology, satellite data ground system, and spatial data grid. He is now mostly focused on new generation spatial data infrastructure, nature disaster data management and infrastructure as well as big data applications. More than 80 of his papers have been peer-reviewed and published. 

He is the senior member of IEEE and High Performance Computation Society in China Computer Federation (CCF), as well as the director member of Chinese Specialty Association of Mathematical & Scientific Software. He has been the coordinator of dozens of National and International research projects. Dr. Li is leading the development of China-GEOSS.

Dr. Li is an active Chinese expert in international cooperation. He has been the coordinator of ICSU/CODATA Linked Open Data for Global Disaster Risk Research (LODGD) Task Group science 2012. He also has been involved in the Chinese national committees of ICSU, as well as CODATA-China and IRDR-China. He was the member of CEOS/WGISS from 2003 to 2012, and served as the Grid Task Team leader and vice-chair of WGISS Application Subgroup. He is the main member of Chinese delegation to GEO Executive Committee. His international experience also related to GEO, IAP, APN, START, ISDE, as well as RDA.

He has served as member of WDS Scientific Committee in the term of 2012-2015, with specially involved in the activities of WDS membership subcommittee and WDS-RDA certification Working Group.
